Motivation Monday- Bible Verses for Encouragement & Inspiration

Happy Monday! Monday’s are my favorite because I get to start the week off fresh and plan all new goals. This week my main focus is God. Sometimes we get caught up in all the other parts of life, but this week I vow to make God my number one priority- and I challenge you to do the same.

For this post, I wanted to list out 5 of the most inspirational verses I have read in the past few weeks and how you can apply them to your life. I pray that whoever is reading this can find inspiration to spread love and be a light this week.

“Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city”.

Proverbs 16:32

TAKEAWAY- God does not want us to be so set on being the best or most powerful. He wants us to be set on becoming the best version of ourselves we possibly can while also fulfilling his purpose. Work on your own spirit before pressuring yourself to conquer the world.

“Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you”.

Ephesians 4:31-32

TAKEAWAY- God calls us to treat others the way He treats us. I challenge you to reflect on your own actions and ask yourself which sentence applies more to you. If it is the first, take this week to change that. Pray for a heart full of love and forgiveness this week and ask God for guidance.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”

Galatians 5:22-23

TAKEAWAY-This verse is an amazing guide for self reflection and goals. Do you possess these qualities? If you feel you are lacking in patience or self-control, choose to be intentional this week in practicing these traits. Pray to God and ask for Him to help you get closer to these fruits of the Spirit this week.

“And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”

Matthew 21:22

TAKEAWAY- Now, I admit even I sometimes forget that God is not a wish granter. God hears our prayers and answers those that align with His plan and our purpose. If He doesn’t answer a prayer, it isn’t a part of your plan. Focus this week on shifting prayers from specific requests to praying for clarity, for love, for a better relationship with God, etc. God will bless you if you have unwavering faith in Him.

“The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”

Proverbs 16:9

TAKEAWAY- You can plan all you want. Make all the lists, reservations, and events, but ultimately only God can see these things through. If it is not meant to happen, it won’t. God hears you and sees you, but He also knows what is best for you and He will do everything in His power to guide you. It is your job to trust in His plan for you and allow Him to guide your steps.

I pray that these verses give you the strength and encouragement you need to start this week. Always remember that God has a plan for you and He hears you, no matter how distant you may feel from Him. Seek Him always and you will never fall short or be alone.
